William G. Spencer, 88, of Canton, passed away at 4:00 AM on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at Renaissance Care Center in Canton, IL. He was born on October 7, 1935 in Canton, IL to Edward and Vera (Atchley) Spencer. He married Charlotte Rantand on August 25, 1956 at South Park United Methodist Church in Canton, IL. She survives.
He is also survived by three children, William D. Spencer, Douglas (Debbie) Spencer and Mary Alexander all of Canton; six grandchildren, Ella Alexander, Chloe Alexander, Josh Ogden, Amanda Putney, Edward Putney, and Jessica Donelson; five great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; and one brother, Mike Spencer.
He is preceded in death by his parents; one grandson, Zachary Ryan, and two brothers, Bud Spencer and Glen Spencer.
William was a welder at International Harvester and Navistar in Indianapolis. He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene. He enjoyed gardening, car shows, making live nativity scenes at South Park United Methodist Church. He w
