Loren Jenkins Humphrey MD, PhD, age 93, passed away peacefully on June 22, 2024 in St. Louis MO. He was born May 4, 1931 in Springfield, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Janice A. Humphrey. He is survived by his four children, Peter Humphrey MD, PhD (Kay) of Guilford CT, Mark Humphrey MD (Sherry) of Colorado Springs CO, Paul Humphrey MD (Lisa) of Columbia MO, and Lori Probst (Jim MD) of St. Louis MO, twelve grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren.Loren graduated from Albion College (Michigan) in 1953. He obtained his MD and MS degrees (1956-58) and training in general surgery (1959-1963) from the University of Illinois, Chicago. He was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha, an honorary medical society. In 1967, he went on to earn a PhD in immunology at the University of New York, Buffalo.
