Roger Glen Swartzbaugh, 72, of Springfield, IL, formerly of Canton, IL, died on Friday, May 19, 2024, at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, IL. He was born on January 11, 1952, at Graham Hospital in Canton, IL; a son of Donald C. and Constance H. (Jones) Swartzbaugh. They preceded him in death.
On May 3, 1986, Roger married Nancy Brown at St Peter's Episcopal Church in Canton, IL. She is surviving.
Also surviving Roger is one brother, John (Judy) Swartzbaugh of Mexico; one nephew, Adam (Chana) Swartzbaugh of New Orleans, LA, and several cousins.
Roger graduated from Canton High School, and also from Augustana College in Rock Island, IL, where he had majored in History. He moved on to receive his master's degree in library science from the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana, and then completed teaching credentials through Western Illinois University in Macomb, IL.
